Water Safety & Life Skills:

Following our Water Safety week we feel it is important for children of all ages to learn about water safety whether it is in a pool or in the sea. We have decided that as part of our swim programme the children will be learning all areas from hidden waste in the sea to safety in and around the pool. We will be looking at running Rookies courses and also basic first aid for all children, we want the children to feel comfortable in being able to administer basic first aid if the need arises without panicking.

Keep a look out for our September programme to start with our Mini Lifesavers and Rookies sessions.

Weekend away

We had an amazing time this weekend at the Merfolk Convention. There was some amazing tails that had been made. We meet some amazing people along with running an hours safety session for some new mermaids and mermen.

Update on Larkhill

We have been busy down at the new pool, the pool has been installed this week along with the plant room, now it is a waiting game for the pool to heat up to 30 degrees, the end is in sight, we have the decking to install along with safety rails and a gate, stairs and the flooring to do, a little bit of plumbing left but won't be long. I know there has been a lot of questions regarding lane swimmers and how they would swim, the system we have put in place is they will work on their technique and then we turn the pool into an endless pool for them to work against the current this means they will be working hard on their distance swimming which means in turn they will be working hard on their stamina.

The pool can hold up to 20 people, but the classes will remain small, teachers will be in the pool working with the children and the younger stages will have a pool helper to assist.

We will be inviting you all to our open day over the Easter Holidays for everyone to come and see first hand the new pool and ask any questions you may have.

If you have any queries please contact me direct.
